Fifth Group Discussion - Turning Plan Into Action

In our fifth group discussion, we shifted our focus toward finalizing and preparing for the execution of the user interviews. Building on the planning and refinement completed during the previous meeting, this session emphasized ensuring that all interview-related components were fully ready before implementation. We reviewed the finalized interview flow once again, paying close attention to timing, question sequence, and transitions between sections to ensure a natural and comfortable experience for participants.

A key agenda of this discussion was conducting a mock interview among group members. By simulating the interview process, we were able to identify potential weaknesses such as unclear questions, awkward phrasing, or sections that might confuse users. This practice helped us further improve our delivery style, maintain consistency among interviewers, and ensure that follow-up questions could be asked appropriately to gain deeper insights. The mock session also highlighted the importance of active listening and neutral questioning to avoid influencing participants’ responses.

Additionally, we discussed the logistical aspects of conducting the interviews. This included deciding on the interview platform, confirming participant availability, and preparing consent forms and recording methods for documentation purposes. We also agreed on a standardized method for note-taking and data recording to ensure that all collected information would be organized and easy to analyze later during the synthesis stage of the Design Thinking process.

Another important point of discussion was the allocation of roles during the interview sessions. Each member was assigned specific responsibilities such as interviewer, note-taker, timekeeper, and technical support. Assigning clear roles helped ensure that the interview sessions would run smoothly and professionally without unnecessary disruptions. We also discussed contingency plans in case of technical issues or participant no-shows.

Overall, this fifth group discussion strengthened our readiness to conduct user interviews effectively. By practicing the interview process, finalizing logistics, and clearly assigning roles, our team is now well-prepared to collect high-quality user data. This meeting marked an important transition from planning to execution, allowing us to move confidently into the next phase of our Design Thinking project with a clear and organized approach.
